Sumday is a product design and development group within BNY Mellon that specializes in providing

leading online investment management experiences for our partners. We are a mix of design and

development leaders from top New York agencies and originally formed to create the innovative beta

offering of Sumday.com in 2013 at the Publicis agency, MRY.

As a Product Design Director (UX/UI), you will join the Sumday team within BNY Mellon to contribute to the

product vision from a high level to a low execution level for our ABLE investment program offerings. ABLE

stands for "the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act," which was signed into law in December 2014 by

President Barack Obama. The act is designed to help people with blindness or other disabilities afford the

additional expenses incurred as a result of the disability by creating savings plans for disability-related

expenses.

You will be responsible for creating user flows and responsive interface designs with a Human Centered

Design (HCD) mindset. Additionally, you will be conducting user research, usability testing, and stepping in

to help with marketing materials when necessary.

This is a full-time role and you will report directly to the Head of Product Design. You will be working in a

dynamic, highly collaborative, fast paced environment. All of our web app experiences are responsive and

require ADA Accessibility compliance. To apply to this role, you must provide a digital portfolio.

The Candidate is responsible for establishing the criteria, processes and systems to effectively measure, monitor and report on the digital user experience for BNYMellon.com and related digital channels. This includes content optimization, identification of actionable business intelligence, and insights that would enhance or evolve channel effectiveness. This role reports to the Director, Digital Marketing to establish priorities and ensure alignment with overall digital strategy. Develop and implement a uniform approach to measuring the effectiveness across digital marketing channels, campaigns and related activities including websites, social media, email marketing activities, paid search, and syndicated content. Team with business units to establish meaningful key performance indicators and related dashboards. Lead one or more strategic initiatives within the digital marketing function (e.g. platform enhancements, program development, applicaton development, etc.) including resources and budget. Support business leadership to ensure digital programs and initiatives are delivering to their satisfaction. Work closely with risk, compliance and technology to ensure digital marketing policies, procedures and best practices are compliant, up-to-date, and housed in approapraite manner. Work with legal, procurement and finance (and other business partners) to on onboard vendors or maintain contracts

Qualifications

• This is a senior-level role and requires all candidates to have professional experience,

ideally from a start-up, design consultancy or agency preferred

• Experience working in a highly collaborative, agile (preferably SCRUM or Kanban) environment preferred

• Experience making complex systems easy-to-use

• Mastery of information hierarchy and typography's role in that

• Ability to justify and defend design decisions preferred

• Ability to empathize with users who may be unlike yourself

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to quality

• Program skills: Sketch, InVision, OmniGraffle, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite preferred

• B.A. in a design related field of study preferred

• Proficiency in illustration, icon design, photo retouching is a plus
