Principal, Infrastructure Engineer

Technology Services Group (TSG) leverages BNY Mellon's modern technology infrastructure to enable powerful business solutions while vigorously prioritizing our stability and resiliency.

Workplace Technology is the end user strategy engineering and deployment team for the company. We engineer solutions on desktops, mobile devices, and technology in office buildings including hardware operating systems, browsers, application packaging and productivity chat and collaboration products.

This is a senior project manager position with responsibilities for coordinating, executing, and communicating all aspects of the BConnect Client Migrations initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project planning, management and maintenance of project and related documents (incl. milestones and deliverables definitions)
  • Issue, risk, dependency and decision identification, logging, tracking and management (incl. escalating blockers as appropriate)
  • Change Tracking and Management
  • Liaison with Workstream Leads , SMEs, Line of Business contacts and stakeholders to ensures tasks are being executed as per schedule and issues are reported
  • Manage adoption of customer migration playbook
  • Coordinate with workstreams on project governance and reporting
  • Communicate with program management, stakeholders through regular status reporting cadence and through the execution of migration
  • Coordinates with the Line of Business contacts and Workstream leads to ensure that TXC tasks are maintained, and issues are tracked
  • Reporting responsibilities included tasks completion, risks/issues, general weekly status updates

Project Management Experience
  • 10+ years experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with in PMO structure

Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of financial services infrastructure environments
  • Understanding strategic transformation
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Products; especially, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Understanding and Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Ability to work with data in and outside Excel to aid in addressing data quality concerns/issues. Some formal data analysis skill would be preferred
  • Background managing technical migrations and/or deployment of data centers, networks, or system environments
  • Understanding of how networks operate, especially extranet networks

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred10-12 years of related experience required.

Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

This person is a subject matter expert in several of the tools/technologies used in the space.Leads the development infrastructure engineering growth strategies and initiatives. Leads initiatives to analyze complex infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design.Leads the evaluation of the effectiveness of the organization's existing infrastructure technology and tools. Analyzes trends to develop strategy for the implementation of upgrades that will enhance the reliability, Resiliency and efficiency of the IT infrastructure.Provides leadership to execute project plans and performance requirements for all stages/phases through the management of human capital resources.This person is a subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space.Participates in or leads initiatives to analyze infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Utilizes standard procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Participates in or leads initiatives to analyze infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Ensures these needs are taken into account when developing infrastructure.Acts as escalation point for major incidents.Leads strategy to increase automation across the organization.Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives
