Principal, Business Systems Analysis - Geneva
Geneva Principal Business Systems Analyst

Strong Geneva experience required to be successful in this role. Serves as liaison between business units and Technology; Provides tactical day-to-day support and assists with strategic support for technology-related initiatives for one or more business units. Expert in conversions from external source data to Geneva platform; exposure/experience with varying fund structures as well as understanding how all the different financial instruments are accounted for: Equity, Bonds, Swaps, Bank Debt, Futures, Forwards, Options, etc., communicates changes which impact client or business including changes in staff, technology, policy, procedures, or practices. Assists with day-to-day queries, the creation of Geneva reports and enhancements. E xperience with investment accounting implementations/Investment Accounting experience. Manages client expectations at all levels of client organization to ensure client satisfaction. Develops and promotes relationships with both client and project teams.

Business Analysis and Support Services (BASS) is a global team that operates in North America, Ireland, Poland, Germany and India. The team supports the different platforms and product lines within the Alternative Investment Services division. The main disciplines within the team are system support and business analysis. The team supports Real Estate, Single manager, Private Equity and Fund of Funds. The team works with their counterparts across the globe in supporting the applications through troubleshooting user support issues, and testing enhancements for the systems and writing business requirements. Training is provided by vendor portal or by members of the BASS team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Subject Matter Expert on the Geneva platform; understand how the system is configured and be the first point of contact to provide "technical" advice and support to accounting users, escalating complex issues to the Geneva technology team or the vendor on behalf of service delivery team.
  • Responsible for multiple/competing conversions from external source systems to Geneva platform.
  • Support Operational teams (Fund Accounting, Data Operations, Trade Capture) with any testing they need to complete, around existing or new functionality
  • Oversee and implement Geneva upgrades and patch releases
  • Troubleshoot Geneva operational issues prior to referring to vendor for resolution.
  • Analyze customer's business and technical requirements.
  • Configure and automate products to optimize client workflow
  • Assist in the preparation of Business Requirement Documents for systems enhancements and report enhancements/creation, where needed.
  • Complete Quality Control testing for local user environment and be part of quality control global team process.
  • Complete validations on any system upgrades or patching
  • Assist in the coordination of production issues and enhancements
  • Support the Client Servicing New business team. This will incorporate participation in project planning, assisting in the system set ups and user testing where applicable.
  • Working with new and existing users to implement system developments and enhancements, providing support for any user queries raised to the team.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage time to maximize productivity.
  • Ability to learn quickly and independently by gathering information from a variety of sources to acquire the knowledge needed to compete assigned tasks.
  • Strong communication skills. The ability to present information to both technical and nontechnical individuals.
  • Ability to gain credibility quickly while on-site is essential.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and strong troubleshooting and reasoning skills
  • Drafts and tracks to implementation project plan tasks
  • Team-oriented; ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people and roles.
  • Works well under pressure
  • Willingness to collaborate across time zones

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline including Business, Software Support or Implementation , or equivalent work experience required 10-12 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
