Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team Background
The Global Client Listed and Over The Counter (OTC) Derivatives Clearing Product Control Team within Prime Brokerage is seeking to fill a position that requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical, technology, people, and communication skills. The successful candidate will be involved in various initiatives related to Client Listed and OTC Clearing designed to improve the control framework, as well as supporting the P&L production team. This position requires a highly motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the P&L production team ensuring accurate daily and monthly accounting, as well as acting as a liaison to the business unit to assist with issue resolution
- Oversee month-end Balance Sheet substantiation processes, as well as perform analytical reviews of both balance sheet and capital results
- Help drive technology changes designed to improve the overall control framework by partnering with the Business Unit, Technology, and Operations
- Implement new control processes and procedures in conjunction with technology changes
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc business analytics to key stakeholders including senior members of the Business Unit and Finance management.
- Establish and manage relationships with key stakeholders across divisions

Qualifications:

- 8-12 years of relevant financial services industry experience. Experience with derivative and clearing businesses strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree required. Major in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Solid foundation in Accounting and Finance concepts
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel
- Proactive, organized, and able to adapt to changes quickly
- Exposure to financial markets and instruments
- Ability to multi-task and execute on a variety of deliverables, while maintaining strict attention to detail
