Network Security Engineer
Our Team Technology Services Group (TSG) is the technology enabler for our firm. Our services provide a strong, resilient, and stable platform to host business processes while enabling innovation Our TSG Engineering teams are focused on providing stable, scalable, and robust infrastructure for the firm while leading the strategy of our integrated engineering solutions. The Network Security Engineering team is responsible for engineering and administering security products and controls across network, distributed servers and other end-points. We play a key role working with Information Security and other teams to architect and enhance security of BNY Mellon assets and are the subject matter experts to develop and deploy a network segmentation strategy. The Role As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, administering and supporting existing and new network segmentation tools. You will be required to have strong technical expertise in the areas of network and security engineering and data analytics. You'll gain a cross-functional understanding of the BNY Mellon's businesses and how we protect our assets. Additionally, you will work with other subject matter experts and resources at BNY Mellon to deploy a network segmentation strategy. Our cyber resiliency program focuses on our critical business services and how we can continue to evolve and improve our ability to recover in the event of a cyberattack. Implementation of a network segmentation strategy is part of a strong cyber resilient posture. Key Responsibilities: Assist with support and implementation strategies for existing host firewall infrastructure and clients Maintain and monitor performance of host-based firewall infrastructure severs and remote agents Responsible for automation in resolving daily incident management tickets through the corporate ticketing system Assist with support and administration of existing network security tools Responding to security incidents in a production environment such as investigating and remediating possible endpoint breaches Maintain departmental documentation Subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space. Participates in or leads initiatives to analyze infrastructure problems to be solved with advanced design. Utilizes standard procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Manages the processes for ensuring that all systems/applications/software/hardware are compliant with Corporate policy/procedures. Monitors project plans and budgets. Contributes to developing and monitoring the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Develops reports in conjunction with the Fellow Architect which demonstrate business opportunities and road map strategies that add business value. Drafts proposals on infrastructure architecture needs for M&A activity, and supports the creation of executive summaries. This person is a subject matter expert in at least one of the tools/techologies used in the space. Consults and advises application development groups on solution architecture design.monitoring implmentation; recommending solutions based on BNYM and industry best practices. Acts as the lead for major incident resolution. Drives strategy to increase automation across the organization.
