Moody's Investor Services - Strategic Initiatives Manager

Location: New York, NY, USA

This position will focus on fully owning and managing the process of researching, synthesizing, and analyzing competitive and market intelligence for Moody's Investors Service (MIS) lines of business and regions in order to develop strategic plans to grow the credit rating agency business. The candidate will source and analyze quantitative and qualitative information on fixed income markets and will produce market assessment presentations for the SVP, Strategic Initiatives to outline growth opportunities. The candidate will be expected to produce the presentations without active guidance and feedback from the SVP, Strategic Initiatives. He or she will also review these presentation with senior MIS managers and incorporate their feedback in order to summarize and present key findings and produce actionable recommendations. He or she should have full command of the content contained in the presentations and be able to authoritatively answer questions about the material contained therein. The candidate should also be able to effectively communicate with senior level people at the firm and actively and regularly contribute to meetings. Senior managers at the firm should feel comfortable reaching out to the candidate directly for more information on topics and recognize the candidate as an authority on the initiatives he or she presents.

MIS Global Strategic Initiatives

  • MBA or Masters degree in a related field
  • Candidate should have at least three years of strategy experience in investment banking, consulting or at a corporation, including internships
  • Good understanding of fixed income markets and its relationship with global economics
  • Working level knowledge in international capital markets and international economics
  • Good presentation skills: data visualization skills, strong oral / written communication skills and good interpersonal skills are needed; ability to be the lead in compiling presentations for senior MIS managers
  • Ability to work with MIS managers to develop business proposals for key strategic growth opportunities
  • Excellent project management and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Factiva
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic is required.
  • Due to Global Exposure, Spanish speaking would be a plus.
