Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firm wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanleys various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanleys various businesses and its senior management team.

The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organizations financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Infrastructure Controllers, Accounting, Regulatory and Reporting groups, and Valuation Review.

Responsibilities:
- Oversight and governance of outsourced fund administration function:
- Quarterly and annual financial statement review and coordination with external auditors for year-end audit
- Review quarterly and annual investor reports
- Review of all cash movements, acquisitions, sales, capital calls and distributions
- Review waterfall model and carried interest calculations
- Fund-reimbursable expense management, review of invoices and payments
- Custody account opening / deposit / withdrawal of securities
- Coordinate and provide non-financial data required by the business unit such as customer flows, assets under management (AUM), validation and commentary, enforce business rules etc.
- Valuations
- Review Fund Overview and Valuation Committee materials including hedges, cash flows, FX, Discount Rates and policy updates
- Quarterly valuation update and presentation to external auditors
- Legal Entity Management
- New fund launch review of Offering Memorandum, Limited Partnership Agreements and Entity Structure charts
- Liaise with accounting policy and Corporate Accounting for entity consolidation and reporting
- Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) process for fund administrators, external auditors and custodial services
- Regulatory Reporting
- SEC Form PF, ADV; Fed Form, FY11, 2314, SLT, SHL, SHCA and AIFMD
- Ad-hoc projects and requests

Qualifications:

Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Public accounting and / or fund administration experience preferred
- 8+ years of accounting experience including financial statement preparation and review within the Private Equity and Real Estate industries preferred.
