Team Overview
The Mandate Integration Services Function reports to the Investment COO. The team provides primary support to the Distribution and Product functions on behalf of the Investment communities. The Mandate Integration Team co-ordinates the integration of Client Mandates and Schroder Fund Investment strategies into the core operating platforms.
Key Objectives
To identify, understand, orchestrate and lead the successful integration of defined Investment strategies into the Schroders Investment Operating model. Managing complex Investment requirements and translate them into their practical application, minimising investment risk, and utilising the Schroders platforms. Support both internal and external clients to maximise Investment objectives, exploiting the Investment Services Capabilities and associated infrastructure.
The function will assist all the relevant Investment desk globally as required, however, there will be a focus on fixed income asset classes and its derivatives. The function will require the individual to align themselves within the strategic delivery teams, and have clear sight of clients requirements, third party requirements, and the investment requirements that are overlayed to achieve the client goals.
The teams key objectives pivot around 3 Central Pillars: Horizon Management , Capability Assessments , and Case Management :
  • Horizon Management
    • Be an essential partner of the Investment function, in provisioning an onboard.
    • Be Accountable to the Investment team, and responsible for ensuring a successful onboarding.
    • Be the face of an onboard, representing the Investment teams best interests.
    • Build strong relationships across the Schroders value stream, and its key contributors.
    • Exhibit a broad understanding of Asset Management products and investment terms.
    • Forge a clear partnership with the Investment and Product teams to understand how the platform can best support client and fund launches.
  • Capability and Risk Assessment
    • Have the ability to identify, understand and articulate Investment Requirements to stakeholders.
    • Have the ability to identify significant elements within the Investment Management Agreement (IMA) that may impact the smooth onboarding of the client at the earliest stage.
    • Be confident in translating business requirements and data into a format that internal stakeholders can consume and act on. Triage questions and issues, into potential options and solutions.
    • Define investment operating requirements for new onboards.
    • Connect Investment with the operational functions to deliver platform requirements.
    • Develop a strong understanding of Schroders Investment operating model capabilities.
    • Maintain a control environment, and understand the governance associated.
    • Have an attention to detail, and a focus on data quality.
    • Promote consistency and reduce complexity across mandates and processes.
  • Case Management
    • Have a Project Management mindset, and understand how to keep the work moving.
    • Ability to manage varying levels of Stakeholders, both internally and externally.
    • Have the ability to manage high volumes of complex onboards at any one time.
    • Support resolution of any onboarding process issues, both upstream and downstream.
    • Build strong relationships within the SME community or specialist networks to achieve the overall goal.
    • Understand what a successful outlook looks like.
    • Be and excellent communicator, knowing which communications method is required at the right moment.
    • Maintain a control environment, and understand the governance associated.
    • Oversee and report performance against agreed services levels.
In addition to the key pillars the following items are key to helping the Investment team achieve their goals, on behalf of the client and Schroders:
  • Be an active member of the Global Institutional Client Take on forums.
  • Provide management, prioritisation and oversight of the end to end delivery of complex onboardings
  • Drive scalability and efficiency improvements, reducing cost and complexity in the operating model
  • Reduce Investment operational risk where appropriate.

Experience and Skills
  • Have a project management and business analysis mindset.
  • Experience in the onboarding capability is beneficial.
  • Experience working in an asset manager or similar organisation, ideally with significant knowledge of investment process, operations, and technology.
  • Experience with the Aladdin toolset would be beneficial.
  • Confident in engaging in discussions with colleagues across the Distribution, Investment, and Operational functions.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, technology and data management as part of the investment lifecycle.
  • Ability to negotiate pragmatic solutions that meet conflicting business requirements.
  • Strong inter-personal and organisational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to demanding deadlines.
  • Experience in fixed income products would be beneficial
