About The Role
Role Location: ANZ New York
Role Type: Permanent, Full time opportunity

As the Local Markets Controller, you are responsible for the financial integrity of the Markets business in New York, as well as general Financial Control (financial accounting and reporting) activities to support the CFO of America which will include provision of accurate and timely financial information and completion of various monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting requirements, and accounting services to support such financial reporting. There will be limited exposure to regulatory reporting obligations of ANZ America, where warranted to ensure coverage or agreed as part of personal professional development.

The operating rhythm of this role will be driven by the Finance Operating Model which foresees that daily P&L production is performed in a centralised manner off-shore, with the on-shore team members reviewing outputs, providing guidance to the off-shore team, and investigating unusual items. Additionally, as the Local Markets Controller, you will assist other enablement functions in ANZ New York to work through identified Markets issues relating to integrity of the general ledger and books and records.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following -
  • Proven professional banking and finance experience in a financial sector
  • Strong understanding of controls and control frameworks
  • Analytical thinker with a strong customer focus and proficiency in MS Excel and collaboration tools
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and implement advances in technology
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with experience working with off-shore sites
