Our client, a top tier, global investment bank seeks to add a Legal Assistant to it's expanding Structured Products Legal division.
Purpose of the role:
~~The role holder will be part of the Structured Products Execution Team in Americas, providing legal support to businesses involved in the issuance of structured investments in the Americas and working with business personnel across the platforms and asset classes involved in the structured investments business. The role holder will be responsible for documentation and filing of structured products issuances, including coordinating the finalization, execution and authentication of documents with trustees and settlement agents. The role holder will draft and assist attorneys with the negotiation of distribution and dealer agreements and manage recordkeeping of issuance documentation and agreements for the Structured Products Legal team.
The role holder will also support attorneys on ongoing projects related to the structured products business and assist the businesses in managing legal and reputational risks of the firm’s transactions and activities in the relevant coverage area.
~~Together with other members of the Structured Products Legal team, the role holder shall work closely with business personnel and other related stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Operations, Tax, Risk, etc.) to manage the execution of structured products issuances and the legal issues relating to them.
The role holder shall be responsible for working with internal execution teams (including coverage attorneys) and external counsel to efficiently manage the execution of a large volume of transactions in the relevant coverage areas.
The role holder shall prepare and assist with negotiations of dealer agreements and other legal agreements relating to the structured products business.
The role holder shall manage recordkeeping of documentation relating to structured products issuances and executed legal agreements.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university.
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal working with securities offering documentation and other forms of corporate agreements common to the financial services industry.
A successful candidate must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail with strong written and oral communication skills.
A successful candidate must be detail oriented and possess the confidence to address critical issues head on.
A preferred candidate will have significant experience in a paralegal role and/or supporting a legal documentation function for a structured products practice within the financial services industry or at a law firm.
A preferred candidate will have a familiarity with common structured products offering documents and related transaction documentation.
