Our client's Production Services team manages their core infrastructure assets.  The team is the first line of support on any production related issues including network and telecommunications, computing (middleware), and end-user support, as well as the firm’s 24x7 data center operations. The Production Services team collaborates closely with business-aligned partners in technology and with key stakeholders across the enterprise. 
As a Lead Engineer, you will focus on making container technologies enterprise ready and have the opportunity to Containerize the firm's applications across a number of on-prem and off-prem cloud environments. Your role will focus on designing, building and delivering an enterprise wide container ecosystem utilizing market leading platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Mesos that will provide large scale, innovative self-service application hosting solutions and reduce the time the technology team takes to execute against the business’ needs. You will be responsible for facilitating interdepartmental solutions, collaborating with both applications development and infrastructure teams to ensure an enterprise ready PaaS and CaaS offering. Your position will also assume a lead role in ensuring the team is leveraging best practices (including risk and governance) related to design and enterprise business technology solutions. 

  • Architect, engineer and manage the operations of the firm’s Microservice, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Mesos in the firm’s cloud platforms.
  • Drive the development and implementation of an enterprise container strategy that will allow the firm to securely manage containers at scale for mission critical workloads.
  • Serve as the firm’s Subject Matter Expert on container technologies, best practices, security and market direction and co-own the roadmap around containers and CaaS platforms.     


  • Identify, design and implement flexible, responsive, and secure technology platforms focused around IaaS and PaaS platforms.
  • Conduct technology assessments to validate an enterprise baseline set of requirements and establish a technical direction.
  • Coordinate, direct, and co-architect between various technology teams.
  • Advise management of enterprise IaaS, PaaS, CaaS solutions that include, risk, cost and benefits analysis along with other impacts to infrastructure solutions.
  • Set technical standards for cloud infrastructure, security baselines, policies and procedures.
  • Develop and document infrastructure support policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend future architecture strategies and roadmaps.
  • Educate and mentor technology support staff as needed, including requisite training on technology and governance.
  • Research and stay current on infrastructure best practices and function as a subject matter expert. 

Required Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Five or more years of experience in deploying and managing Docker containers across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms. Experience in Docker, and related Docker ecosystem standards and best practices is required.
  • Architectural experience in designing and implementing container solutions in a regulated enterprise at scale.
  • Five or more years of technology infrastructure engineering/DevOps experience.
  • Experience operating in a VMware based infrastructure.
  • Experience in Kubernetes and Mesos preferred.
  • One or more years of RedHat OpenShift and associated technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, HAProxy, EFK stack, etc.) engineering experience preferred.
  • RedHat Cloudforms experience, including integration with OpenShift clusters preferred.
  • J2EE application server experience including WebLogic, Tomcat and JBoss.
  • Five or more years of RedHat Linux, Windows, Networking, and/or storage management experience preferred.
  • Python, NodeJS, nginx, & tomcat experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in the financial services sector preferred.
  • F5 LTM/GTM familiarity as well as general application delivery and routing concepts preferred.
  • Splunk experience preferred. 

Desired Experience 

  • Understanding of Amazon EKS and ECS.
  • Familiarity with Puppet, Python, Shell Scripting, NFS/SAN, and DNS.
