Lead I Software Engineer
Job Title: Lead I, Software Engineer

The Grade: 11 (for internal use only)

The Team
In partnership with Product Management and Quality Assurance, your team shares a common mission to create products that satisfy our users. Your team will enable product engineering teams, promises engineering excellence and deliver high-quality end product.

Business impact [Analytical Tools]
This product line includes a large portfolio of analytical tools and models that enable a global team of Ratings Analysts to analyze, gain insight, score and contribute critical insights to our core Ratings process. With these products you will help our global team of Ratings Analysts, Methodology and Criteria specialists create world class ratings & research across more than 90 global economies enabling them to create and test hypothetical 'what if' credit-risk scenarios and perform a host of other critical analytical tasks.

Compensation and Benefits Information:
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $67,600 - $190,100. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

  • Support and foster a quality-first, agile culture that is built on partnership, trust and sharing

  • Support Product Managers and groups of SCRUM teams with technical coordination of complex inter-product dependencies including release management and delivery execution
  • Strong on-hands application development responsibility to ensure quality efficiency
  • Working in a collaborative environment and being able to bring new ideas and approaches to the table
Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • 8-12 years of experience with software engineering in a complex environment
  • 8-12 years of relevant full stack development experience in web development technologies, Java, Spring Boot, Javascript framework (Angular), HTML, CSS, Typescript
  • Knowledge of Reactive Programming, rxJS, ngRx, Redux
  • JS Unit Testing Jasmine, Karma
  • Agile/Scrum approach knowledge
  • Quality first mindset with a strong background and experience with developing products for a global audience at scale
  • Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with strong ability to influence both technology and business partners
Nice to have qualifications
  • CI/CD experience
  • JPA, Hibernate, Rest APIs, AWS, Tomcat, JMS, SQL, Oracle
  • Javascript frameworks (React, Vue)
  • Test/Behavior Driven Development
  • Webpack
  • Angular Module Federation
  • Expert in cloud based development methodologies and state of the art design patterns
  • Experience with building and supporting solutions in the cloud including a strong understanding of cloud native architectures, design patterns and best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding and experience in the Agile large projects & programs including promotion of continuous improvement through assessment and action planning
  • Experience with open source and distributed software development
  • Up to date and knowledgeable in technology and industry trends with ability to develop and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management
