Lead Analyst – Surveillance COR Structured Credit
Job Description Serve as the lead or backup analyst on a portfolio of structured finance credits, conducting analysis, presenting to rating committees, and completing deal administration tasks. Lead and manage projects, publish research, and interact with issuers/sponsors, investors, bankers and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform credit analysis for structured credit transactions backed primarily by corporate assets (BSL CLO, SME CLO, CBO), bank debt (TruPS) or other debt (Project Finance CDO, Municipal CDO, SF CDO, Structured Notes). Monitor ratings of existing transactions, assign new ratings in refinancing transactions, or provide recommendations or feedback within context of other services (e.g., Rating Agency Confirmation or Pre-Implementation Feedback).
  • Primarily responsible for analyzing asset pools, transaction structures and cash flows using Moody's methodologies and models, other quantitative or qualitative tools or methods, to formulate independent credit opinions and make recommendations to a rating committee or other discussion forum. The analysis will also include reviewing legal documents and other relevant third party reports and data, and involves completing all pre- and post-review administration tasks.
  • Independently present at rating committees and other internal credit discussion forums and demonstrate sound credit judgment, mastery of Moody's methodologies, collaboration, and effective communication skills.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date market intelligence on current developments impacting structured credits.
  • Lead meetings including on-site issuer/sponsor visits and communicate professionally with issuers/sponsors, investors and bankers, and other stakeholders .
  • Publish high quality research on pertinent credit events and sector trends.Substantially contribute to other sector research such as outlooks.
  • Lead and manage or contribute to key projects such as methodology reviews, analytical updates, maintainance and improvement of Moody's models, tools, data, and processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, and mentor or train new or junior analysts.
  • Build relationships with investors, underwriters and issuers/sponsors and manage key strategic relationships.
  • Follow established processes or analytical guidance; demonstrate compliance with Moody's policy and applicable law or regulations.


Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) or undergraduate degree (e.g. bachelor's) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field with substantial for Analyst, or solid for ALA1 related work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial and fixed income markets.
  • Experience in credit analysis.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) skills mandatory, strong statistical skills and ability to work with large data sets highly desired.
  • Experience with programming (VBA, SQL, Python, R) a plus.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude, proven analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Professional, proactive, shows initiative, flexible, diligent and dependable
  • Sound judgment and highest ethical standards; capable of developing independent opinions and defending views
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and contribute to a large and diverse team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Prior experience in Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) or leveraged finance a plus
