A Boutique Institutional Energy Derivatives Brokerage is seeking an entry level junior analyst to join the Back Office team. The potential candidate will initially be expected to contribute to back office operations in order to gain a firm understanding of the market, but will eventually be expected to contribute to other areas across the firm.

Eagle Energy Brokers is a global brokerage service provider specializing in over-the-counter derivatives within the energy markets.  Eagle is a boutique firm that attracts and retains talented individuals from the worlds of trading and brokerage to provide a more bespoke, educated, and developed level of service.  Eagle’s core front office team wields an impressive repertoire of 25 years combined commodity options trading experience.  Our global presence allows us to provide exemplary service with execution offerings across multiple markets ranging from Asia/Australia to US trading hours.  The firm’s client base mainly consists of physical traders, banks, and hedge funds.  Eagle specializes in offering pricing services, strategic hedging, execution (OTC and Screen), and research.  Our team’s trading experience coupled with proprietary option and swaps pricing models allow us to price structures and compare bid ask spreads to source the most liquid and competitive deals in the market place.

Eagle is a boutique firm, which allows for a unique opportunity to gain exposure across the many different aspects of the inductry that would otherwise be unavailable in a large company.  Once hired, the candidate will be expected to take and pass the FINRA Series 3 exam (company sponsored).

Preferred Skills/Requirements

  • Programming experience (VBA, Python, Java, or C++ preferred)
  • Basic understanding of Futures and Options theory
  • Demonstrable interest in global Energy markets
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Drive and motivation to learn the intricacies of complex option strategies and energy market dynamics
  • 0-2 years experience
  • Outstanding academic achievements with a degree in Finance or other quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc)
  • Minimum GPA: 3.4
