Job Description:
Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced research technology leader (senior VP /ED) to represent the Americas Investment Research technology group. This role, within the Research division, reports into the global head of Research technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the analyst and client-facing technology platforms, providing creative thinking and innovative ideas, and ensuring adoption of solutions across the department. These platforms include data, research authoring, multi-channel distribution, advanced analytics, CRM and legal and compliance based systems. The candidate will work closely with the Research Analysts, Research Management and the global IT organization to ensure the technology requirements meet the business goals and needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project and program management and will possess competency in idea generation, project planning, business analysis, and user adoption of new tools and technologies.

Responsibilities include:
• Define Americas region technology vision, goals, and strategy
• Work closely with Research management to ensure strategic business objectives are met
• Establish stakeholder relationships with the Product Team and Analysts
• Represent regional business requirements, project prioritization & defining the technology strategy
• Partner with our IT division and external vendors to deliver successful solutions
• Regional program management & execution of global technology projects
• Identify regional opportunities to leverage existing technology and new innovations to enable the business strategy
• Be a champion for the research technology platform to drive adoption
• Drive technology ideas and experimentation and remain current with technology trends
• Facilitate regional communication on project status, issues, and risks
• Lead regional operational tasks, data security governance, business continuity planning, IT support improvements, and training
• Manage overall portfolio funding and cost management

• Agile or related project management
• Experience with marketing and analytics platforms a plus
Educational requirements:
• Bachelors Degree required, MBA/Masters Degree desired
