Duties: Regularly meet and advise large and small clients in corporate finance and business strategy to help meet short-term and long-term objectives by instructing clients on all aspects of deal structuring and negotiations leading to definitive purchases and/or merger agreements. Design and review client deliverables, present financial and qualitative analyses assessing multiple scenarios and potential impacts on clients, evaluate client feedback, and execute agreed upon strategies. Advise global transportation and logistics corporations on capital raising in the public equity market or private sales and assess best possible routes to maximize investments and benefit stakeholders including employees. Generate and market acquisition ideas for North American transportation and logistics corporations to enhance their capabilities and customer base, introduce them to potential partner companies, and perform due diligence to evaluate strengths and risks of growth opportunities. Serve as primary project leader from start-to-finish in the execution of mergers and acquisitions and capital raising assignments, working closely with other senior investment bankers and outside advisors including consultants, accountants, and lawyers. Work with specialists in capital market product groups to execute capital raising transactions in both debt and equity, including due diligence, coordination with other institutions, and preparation of marketing materials.
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, or related field of study plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience in Financial Analysis or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires four (4) years of experience with the following skills: transportation industry and power dynamics including risks and needs of global transportation companies; and pro forma balance sheet assessment in an M&A scenario, financial liquidity analysis, and ratings analysis. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills: advising clients across different transportation subsectors: freight logistics, freight logistics technology, trucking, aviation, railroads, and maritime shipping sectors; providing assessments of financial impacts; performing financial statement analysis, merger and acquisition pro forma capital structure simulations, and other advanced corporate finance analysis including return on invested capital, cash breakeven and tax leakage analysis, and M&A structuring; driving discussions with client working team and management team on investment ideas and execution workstreams; driving discussions with capital markets partners on client introduction, liquidity analysis, and transaction feasibility; and providing regular updates internally to monitor business opportunities.
