Morgan Stanley's Institutional Securities Group (ISG) is a remarkably broad and diversified business. We provide institutions with almost every kind of financial product and service across the world's major markets.
Position Description:
ISG Model Management is an in-business risk management team that partners with Traders, Modelers, Technology, Firm Risk Management, Finance and BU Senior Management to manage financial modeling risk. The emphasis is on delivering practical solutions and maintaining a global governance, communication and awareness strategy that underscores a culture of control excellence.
The team provides strategic leadership and develops technology and tools to enhance model control standards and processes. The team owns, maintains and facilitates the ISG model control process and related procedures for models used in ISG. The group supports analysis of model risks for ISG management, improves model risk and control management practices and helps ISG comply with regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, with relevant financial services experience, a strong desire to learn, and excellent communication and analytical skills that enable her/him to develop and implement solutions independently.

Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include supporting the Model Risk Control Framework both in ISG and Firm wide:
- Devise and apply strategies for efficient roll-out of new processes, controls and systems.
- Communicate about complex topics effectively, both to technical and business teams, including to senior management.
- Acquire a high-level understanding of models and model risk across the firm.
- Write business requirements and liaise with technical team to ensure they are implemented correctly and on time.

Skills Required:
- The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree, at minimum.
- 3-6 years of relevant industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, confidence to present to management, able to balance various initiatives and deadlines simultaneously
- Initiative and ability to facilitate communication among departments
- Sound analytical skills
- Sensitivity to detail and accuracy in everyday work
- Experience with software development languages, tools and methods
