Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach.


  • Advise clients and advisors on appropriate tailored mortgage solutions, drive the appropriate use of mortgage lending, identify and implement lending growth opportunities within an assigned region
  • Act as the primary liaison and resource for all parties involved in the residential mortgage lending process, including: Regional Lending Managers, Lending Specialists, Private Wealth Advisors, Ayco Account Managers, 3rd Party Vendors and GS Banks core operations team
  • Advise Private Wealth Management clients on available mortgage options including products, pricing and recommended deal structures. Gather information from clients using internal and external resources for the completion of the mortgage application process
  • Work closely with third party mortgage fulfillment partner to ensure the process is smooth for all clients This role will encompass internal marketing such as office visits and client meetings as requested by the Private Wealth Management teams, as well as periodic site visits with the third party mortgage fulfillment vendor. Primary Client and Transaction Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for PWM & Ayco client mortgages within assigned territory. Client is defined as the ultimate borrower, as well as any GS stakeholder in the transaction, to include: Private Wealth Advisors, Ayco Account Managers, Investment Management Division Leadership and GS Bank Management
  • Accountable for client experience from initial contact to loan funding
  • Engage advisors within assigned region in the mortgage program
  • Gather initial information from advisor and provide indicative pricing and structure
  • Provide client account statements to third party provider on behalf of clients
  • Responsible for the early identification of complex transaction structures, such as: entity, trust, guarantor, co-op, unique property requirements, condensed time-frames, properties under construction, need for multiple co-borrowers
  • Assist with underwriting requests for additional information
  • Maintain full awareness of status for all loans in pipeline
  • Function as primary GS liaison on all issues surfaced during loan process
  • Maintain a proactive role in ensuring all loan conditions are satisfied
  • 5+ years work experience in financial fields - primarily mortgage lending or servicing
  • Relevant work experience includes commercial banking and/or private banking roles related to jumbo residential mortgages
  • General understanding of estate planning techniques, entity structuring, and tax strategies
  • Strong command of mortgage underwriting guidelines
  • Well versed in high net worth cash flow & balance sheet analysis
  • BA required; MBA preferable
  • People/ project management skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Flexible, personable, confident and self-motivated; team player
  • Ability to multi-task and be well organized
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
