The GSAM Private Real Estate Group ("GSAM PRE") is seeking to add an analyst to its business development & investor relations team in New York. GSAM PRE focuses on core, core-plus, and value-add real estate investment opportunities in the United States across office, industrial, multifamily, and retail property types and invests primarily through commingled funds. Today, GSAM PRE manages $3.4bn in gross asset value, with 40 dedicated professionals spread across three offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas. The team evaluates commercial real estate investment opportunities across a range of geographies and risk profiles.
The analyst will join a growing business development & investor relations team and gain broad exposure to all aspects of real estate private equity investor relations and marketing, as well as significant interaction with the most sophisticated and largest real estate investors around the globe. This role will be an integral part of the broader GSAM PRE team and will be relied upon to support day-to-day client needs and contribute to the Group's ongoing capital raising activities.
Drive client service activities including:

  • Serve as initial internal point of contact for all questions related to product offerings
  • Assisting with all investor communications, quarterly and bespoke client deliverables, and portfolio review materials
  • Coordinating investor requests, questionnaires, surveys, and database updates
  • Coordinating internal and external resources to analyze opportunities for growing existing client relationships
Support capital raising activities including:
  • Assist with preparation of marketing and due diligence materials, pitchbooks and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) for all GSAM PRE investment vehicles
  • Conduct market & competitor research
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective investors
  • Assist with identifying and tracking potential investors globally
  • Prepare meeting notes prior to existing and new client meetings
  • Work closely with senior IR professionals to ensure meeting follow-ups are completed
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 1 - 2 years of experience in real estate investment banking, private equity, asset management, lending or commercial brokerage
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong balance of qualitative and quantitative skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel are required; experience with Preqin, Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced team environment
  • Project management abilities and time management skills are a must
  • Highly organized; attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Positive attitude and very strong work ethic
  • Willingness to travel on an as needed basis
  • Passion for real estate
