INVESTMENT BANKING
Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Cross Markets Group (CMG) is the newest business unit within Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Division and key growth initiatives at the Firm. The CMG team is focused on expanding our coverage of corporate clients and sponsor portfolio companies as well as middle market financial sponsors. We will cover clients across all industries and provide M&A, financing and other corporate finance solutions utilizing dedicated resources from within the Cross Markets Group team of investment bankers.

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) investment banking group provides corporate clients across the FIG spectrum with advice, access to financing and execution expertise across a wide range of investment banking products. Our FIG Group provides financing and advisory services to financial institutions, including the leading players in the sectors we cover. Our group offers a wide range of products, including M&A advisory, debt and equity financing, structured finance, risk management/hedging and co-investing. Within FIG, the banks and specialty finance team covers a broad array of lenders and deposit-taking institutions across the U.S. Given nature of FIG as an industry, our group offers an exciting and fast-paced environment with tremendous opportunity to contribute and grow.

Our bankers work with clients in achieving their most important strategic and financial objectives. They are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances, participating on our advisory teams and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Their responsibilities include supervising analyst and associate teams in creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, helping manage transaction processes, and structuring transactions. They will gain exposure to the firm's businesses and expand their knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communications and marketing skills.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree and 3+ years of FIG investment banking experience; OR Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of FIG investment banking or equivalent experience
  • Strong track record of executing M&A and financing transactions in an investment banking advisory role
  • 2+ years' experience in leading deal teams of analysts and associates
  • Experience working with companies in the Financial Institution sectors, specifically Banks, in the US
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
