Head of Planning Tools & Analytics
Duties: Upgrade existing financial planning and estate planning calculators to be simulation-based and ensure future sustainability by documenting calculator processes and technologies. Maintain excel-based calculators and analytics provided to high-net worth (HNW) clients related to their estate and wealth planning. Run custom analytics for select high net worth (HNW) clients. Perform research on investment and wealth transfer techniques to continually enhance the firm's advisory process. Create content in fields of income and transfer tax planning to be shared with clients and their professional advisors. Support a disciplined wealth management process to help clients articulate and prioritize their personal goals and then develop and implement an investment balance sheet strategy to achieve those goals. Engage with technology team to build new functionalities for wealth planning calculators while taking into account user demand and business priorities. Assist in providing solutions to inquiries from internal partners and questions from clients. Drive team that is tasked with analyzing more complex client situations and act as first responders to system errors by discussing and assisting clients with transactions involving analysis of tax implications which range from income tax-efficient uses of credit to wealth planning. Mentor junior members of the team on various wealth planning and retirement topics. Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience in Wealth Advisory/Management, Financial Analysis, or related role.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: working in Excel including VBA coding; financial and estate planning project management; using VBA coding skills to develop analytics such as creating and enhancing an education savings calculator to identify savings vehicles for client's situation, as well as amounts necessary to fund those vehicles in order to meet future education costs; migrating calculators to technology platforms such as converting education savings calculator from an Excel-based tool to a non-Excel application housed on a secure, internal technology platform; bespoke client projects including leveraging finance and estate planning with Excel to perform customized analytics and presenting findings to clients; managing educational projects by performing analytical research on planning strategies such as Roth IRA conversion for client publications; and training advisors on financial and estate planning concepts such as income tax minimization strategies or strategies to pass wealth on to children, as well as leveraging analytics to address client needs. This position requires one (1) year of experience with advising clients and client advisors on financial and estate planning concepts and rules such as income tax minimization strategies or strategies to pass wealth on to children.
