Role description and opportunities

The Head of Digital leads the Digital Platforms and Technology Enablement Center of Expertise. This individual will lead BNY Mellon's overall Marketing & Communications digital, in addition to data and insights strategy and shape the digital roadmap. The position reports to the Global Head of Brand Experience and Digital Innovation.

Key responsibilities include the following
  • Set the enterprise-wide digital strategy and roadmap for BNY Mellon Marketing & Communications
  • Collaborate with fellow marketers and communicators to build and manage digital experiences that enhance the user's digital journey driving awareness, engagement and business
  • Optimize the Marketing and Communications technology stack to enable enterprise level efficiency. Manage platforms and vendors used for website, social media publishing, marketing automation, etc.
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into digital experiences that help to keep BNY Mellon at the leading edge of the rapidly changing digital landscape
  • Partner with client and sales teams to ensure integration with CRM platform, as well as coordination and alignment with priority sales initiatives
  • Oversee the UX, tracking and optimization of cross-channel, integrated digital marketing and communications campaigns
  • Understand the diverse needs of the corporate, regional and line-of-business marketing and communications teams
  • Plan, forecast and manage budgets and resources across a portfolio of vendors, agencies, and consultants
  • Ensure solid governance to meet legal, regulatory and compliance requirements for digital channels (i.e., accessibility, privacy, information security, etc.)
  • Collaborate with broad cross-functional groups, including the thought leadership and content strategy teams, brand, design, engineering and other business partners
  • Research and pilot new digital channels and strategies
  • Partner with the data & insights team to ensure data flows seamlessly within the M&C ecosystem for actionability and reporting
  • Provide digital strategy, guidelines, tools, training and resources for business line marketers and communicators
  • Build and manage a team of digital and technology experts

A successful candidate should ideally have these qualifications
  • Strategic thinker with effective marketing and communication skills to drive digital strategy, execution and results
  • Deep technical understanding and ability to manage technology integrations
  • Experience building and managing websites, SEO/SEM, UX, email campaigns, marketing automation, CRM systems and social media publishing platforms
  • Knowledge of Adobe platforms - including AEM and Marketo - a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven, team-oriented environment
  • Global mindset comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Executive presence with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders
  • 12 - 15 years of related work experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus
