• Define risk appetite framework and standards for GCB Retail Lending & Digital Banking.
• Ensure business operates within their stated risk appetite and in compliance with internal policies, corporate risk standards, and regulatory guidance.
• Provide a thorough assessment & recommendation of the Portfolio Classifications, New Product Launches, & Policy Exceptions
• Provide day to day oversight of credit risk activities across the full life cycle and provide credit challenge including opining on the appropriateness of credit policies, testing activities, credit operating systems, and NCL forecasting, Loan loss reserve, Basel and CCAR methodologies.
• Drive Independent Risk's involvement on all GCB Retail Lending & Digital Lending initiatives
• Partner with the Retail Bank compliance and operational risk teams to ensure appropriate risk identification, risk assessment, and risk mitigation is in place for material risk across Retail Bank branches, products and services.
• Ensure comprehensive oversight of strategic and transformational retail bank projects such as ATM transformation, Retail Bank/Mortgage integration, Duracell and related risk appetite and target market changes.
• Ensure product programs or equivalent controls are in place for all retail bank products: deposits, overdraft, loans, debit cards, wire transfers.
• Partner with the business to accelerate and drive digital transformation in account opening and lending and servicing across all products.
• Perform deep-dives, peer reviews, & on the ground support for risk management and digital capability reviews; serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of contact that the organization can leverage for expertise and advice.


• Ideal candidate will have 15+ years of direct consumer lending Risk Management & large transaction risk assessment experience at a senior level in US
• Ideal candidate will have significant senior experience at a major lending institution; digital lending experience a major plus.
• Experience in large scale change management and managing business transformations
• Strategy, transaction, & approval authority at Senior Credit Officer Level 2, Managing Director, or equivalent level
• Qualified candidates must, at a minimum, hold an undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, or similar quantitative fields; Master's degree a strong plus
• Extensive experience in interacting with senior management and regulators; excellent communication and presentation skills
• Built, developed, & retained high performing Risk Management teams, including policy, strategy, analysis, and execution
• Expert knowledge of unsecured lending products (cards, revolving lines)
• Experience across the full credit life cycle: acquisition, portfolio, loss forecasting, loan loss reserve, collection strategy, and fraud. Experience in policy development, strategy development, testing and execution.
• Experience in conducting due diligence work and setting risk policies for portfolios purchases or de-novo partnership programs.
• Experience conducting portfolio reviews, policy setting, peer reviews, portfolio audits, and regulatory interactions.
