General Partner Accounting, Analyst
Job Description:
This Staff Accountant position is in the General Partner Accounting Group (GPA). Our group is primarily responsible for quarterly GAAP reporting, which flows into the 10K and 10Q, and internal tax reporting to the Blackstone partners that participate in the firm's Side-by-Side and Carried Interest Programs. The Candidate will gain an understanding of Partnership accounting, from both a GAAP and Tax perspective and become familiar with certain tax forms, especially Form K-1.

Candidate's responsibilities will include the preparation of:
  • Quarterly GAAP Financial Statements utilizing Investran and Oracle software
  • Quarterly GAAP disclosure items
  • Fund to GP Reconciliation of Partner Contributions and Distributions
  • Annual Tax work-papers utilizing iPACS/Investran/Excel software
  • Monthly reconciliation of GL Cash to Bank Statements, including inter-company expenses
  • Quarterly Flash to Actual P&L adjustments
  • Creation of new legal entities, as well as dissolution of final legal entities
  • Creation of new bank accounts
  • Various administration functions

Finally, the ideal candidate for this position must have a BA/BS in Accounting and have two years of general accounting experience; CPA preferred.

Moreover the candidate must demonstrate that they possess poise, self-confidence, alertness, initiative, maturity and the ability to manage their time effectively to meet tight deadlines.
