Flow Derivative Trader
Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an analyst or associate in flow derivatives trading in New York, New York
Act as a flow trader of a sector book on the Single-Name-Volatility trading desk. Candidate should feel comfortable pricing vanilla derivative trades (equities preferred) and managing a trading book. Candidate should be proactive in idea generation on a market and single stock level, and should feel comfortable communicating those ideas to clients. Make first order and measurable impact on the PNL. Perform optimization, price impact analysis, and liquidity optimized portfolio construction. Manage central hedging system for facilitating client flows and hedging desk-wise delta systematically. Conduct quantitative research on statistical prediction models for intraday/daily stock returns based on statistical analysis and machine learning. Build research platform for intraday/daily systematic trading based on Q, KDB+, R, and Python.
Requires a bachelor's degree. Candidate should have a minimum of one year's experience working on a trading desk at a bank or market making firm. Equities experience is preferred, but not required. Very strong programming skills and a background working in R or Python is not required, although strongly preferred.
