Executive Director - Head of Strategy for Latin America - Corporate & Investment Bank
J.P. Morgan is seeking talentedcandidates for the position as the Head of Strategy for Latin America. ThisExecutive Director / Senior Strategy Manager role is in our Corporate &Investment Banking (CIB) Strategy Group in New York and will report to the Headof CIB Strategy for the Americas. This role will provide the opportunity forthe candidate to work directly with the CEO of Latin America, and the Heads ofeach country and each business.

The candidate will closely shape thestrategic priorities for the Firm in Latin America. Projects include developinginternational growth strategies, organizational alignment, collaboration acrossLOBs, new out-of-the-box ideas, long term growth ideas, assessing and planningnew product and market entry (e.g., bringing to Latin America businesses thatJPM does in other parts of the world), benchmarking against competitors, strategicbusiness deep dives, strategic investments, and acquisitions / divestitures. Evenwith the focus on Latin American initiatives, the candidate will work on manyinitiatives across CIB globally as needed and in parallel.

More broadly, the CIB Strategy teamis a global group with a mandate to help define senior management agendas,drive execution of the most strategic projects, and coordinate across theorganization effectively to address complex issues. The group functions as aninternal consulting group and works on a project basis. The CIB Strategy Group iscomposed of top performers from top strategy consulting firms, investmentbanks, other internal JPMorgan Chase groups, and top undergraduate and graduateprograms.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Supporting group on projects identified by senior leaders and business heads across the CIB; Senior Managers work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Defining work plan and running point on projects
  • Executing creative analyses and providing insight to identify issues and arrive at recommendations
  • Coordinating, verifying and supporting as needed financial modeling and valuation analysis
  • Synthesizing, analyzing and presenting project data and findings
  • Developing strategic presentations for both internal and external audiences
  • Being the touch point for all topics related to strategy in Latin America
  • Coaching, role modeling and mentoring colleagues and team members; providing constructive feedback and guidance to develop team members
  • Fostering and contributing to an environment of collaboration, mutual respect and shared responsibilities

  • 8 years of experience from either a premier management consulting firm, OR from an investment banking (M&A, Coverage, Capital Markets, Equity Research) division. Financial Institutions Group (FIG) experience required. Candidates with a combination of management consulting or investment banking and strategy execution / implementation are preferred
  • Spanish and / or Portuguese fluency required; strong interest and familiarity with Latin America is strongly preferred
  • Structured communication and thinking
  • Expertise building quantitative and qualitative / conceptual analyses, working with operational and financial data
  • Experience performing competitor / industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources
  • Experience conducting internal and external interviews
  • Collaborative approach to working with team members across LOBs and staff areas
  • Ability to meet with business leads to discuss any issue and articulate a view
  • Leverages business knowledge and technical expertise to challenge assumptions and operating models
  • Comfortable synthesizing data and developing recommendations even under limited data availability or ambiguous situations
  • Understanding of financial services business drivers and modeling principles; ensures that the team's analyses are sound
  • Concise communicator both written and verbal, fluent at presenting findings to senior management
