Equity Research Associate, Property & Casualty (Non-Life) Insurance

In this position you will work as part of a team with the Senior Analyst covering the Property & Casualty (Non-Life) Insurance sector in Wells Fargo's Equity Research department. Specific responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining financial models, writing company and industry reports, conducting fundamental research and communicating with clients, internal sales people and senior management. Exposure to institutional investors, covered company/industry corporate executives and other experts will become an integral part of the position.

Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of capital markets industry experience, financial services industry research experience, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ plus years equity research/investment banking or consulting experience.
  • CFA and/or MBA a plus
  • Series 7, 63, 86 & 87
  • Must have excellent Excel and writing skills
  • Superior financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and financial modeling skills
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience using Factset, SNL, CapIQ and Bloomberg, and other data aggregation programs a plus
  • Property & Casualty (Non-Life) Insurance Sector experience a plus
