About this role

What team will you be on?
The global Corporate Communications team at BlackRock is responsible for internal and external communications efforts that advance BlackRock's purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. We work to develop compelling communications programs that enhance the firm's culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation and build our brand.

Why is your role important?
Based in New York, you will lead efforts to plan and execute communication initiatives that shape the employee experience at the firm - and be a key member of a collaborative, global team dedicated to solving complex communications and engagement challenges.

What will you be doing?
  • Bring the right mix of experience, creativity, project oversight and technical skills to implement and execute HR/internal communications campaigns and program initiatives to reach BlackRock's workforce of more than 18,000.
  • Partner with a wide range of internal stakeholders, including talent management, career development, benefits, wellness, recognition, compensation, talent acquisition, employer brand, diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI), social impact, corporate strategy among others.
  • Design and execute innovative and audience-centric ways to deliver engaging content through a mix of internal communications channels (i.e., leadership memos, videos, articles, infographics and events) and apply measurement to demonstrate the impact of the programming.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand and translate information into easy-to-understand, actionable and compelling content that resonates with employees of the firm.
  • Participate in shaping and evolving the internal communications program and infrastructure as a core and valued member of the team.
  • Serve as a leader and culture carrier of the global Corporate Communications team.


What are we looking for?
  • 12+ years' experience in employee communications in the financial services industry and/or communications agency/HR consultancy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and executives around the world.
  • An upbeat teammate who is a driven self-starter, with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability to multitask and operate with flexibility in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.


Desired experience (not essential)
  • Knowledge of industry-leading internal communications strategies and methodologies
  • Experience with communications tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, M365, SharePoint Online, Yammer, Poppulo).
