About this role
BlackRock Marketing is looking for a strategic leader to own and expand the value of co-marketing partnerships with key ETF and Index Investing ecosystem partners for iShares, BlackRock's ETF and Index Investing (EII) business. Reporting jointly to the EII Global Chief Marketing Officer and EII Global Product Chief Operating Officer, this role will lead and expand relationships with an existing portfolio of partners, identify and nurture new partnerships, and coordinate teams across the organization in the execution of co-marketing plans that support iShares Global AUM growth goals.
Responsibilities
  • Be the lead Relationship Manager for co-marketing with all EII Ecosystem co-marketing partners and ensure each of the relationships is run with operational rigor, transparency and accountability
  • Develop a partner co-marketing strategy and annual co-marketing plan, in collaboration with EII Marketing, Product, and Sales, and Partner teams, that supports the achievement of mutual brand and business objectives
  • Lead the execution of the annual co-marketing plan in partnership with iShares Regional Marketing teams and Partner Marketing teams
  • Define clear goals for all co-marketing activities and ensure measurement methodologies are in place to track performance, optimize activities and ultimately report out on the progress against the goals to both the Partner and the EII business
  • Define and secure co-marketing funding for the annual plans in partnership with the Global Head of EII Index Strategy and ensure accurate and timely tracking and reporting of the budget to all parties
  • Identify, pursue and nurture new partnership co-marketing relationships with existing and new partners to accelerate reach with existing clients and/or prospects, build the iShares brand and support EII strategic growth priorities
  • As a senior member of BlackRock's Global Marketing and Product community be a catalyst for strategic change and an evangelist for a client first, transformational marketing approach
  • Build a high performing team through hiring, talent development and performance management
Education and Experience Required
  • 15yrs+ relationship management and business or product development experience at a category leading firm
  • 5yrs+ leadership experience managing a team
  • Deep understanding of the investment management/ETF industry and client segments
  • Experience working in B2C, B2B and B2B2C marketing models is a plus
  • Results driven business leader with proven track record of success and achievement driving brand and business goals and managing external relationships
  • MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree. Bachelor's degree required

  • External Relationship Management: Demonstrates strong business development and relationship management acumen. Can successfully represent iShares marketing capabilities and impact to partners and synthesize complex business decisions, ensuring clarity and alignment of shared priorities and the delivery of timely and effective communication; Able to meet with external partners to drive new opportunities at the global and regional level.
  • Strategic Planning & Implementation: Orchestrates the development of strategic plans that drive brand and business growth and effectively advance mutual priorities with external partners
  • Data and Analytics: Uses data, analytics and insight to inform strategy and report marketing's contribution to the business
  • Budget Management: Establishes, tracks and actively manages marketing budgets to efficiently and effectively drive mutual business goals with co-marketing partners
  • Collaboration: Collaborates effectively across functions and businesses to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges and alignment with business imperatives in each region
  • Executive Partnering: Able to communicate and work effectively with senior business leaders in and outside BlackRock
  • Change Management: Drives innovation and change
  • Leadership: Able to drive initiatives forward in complex and ambiguous environments and deliver results; Able to influence without direct authority; Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative; Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels
