A growing global proprietary trading firm that is expanding into the US, is looking for a trading systems engineer with solid Linux-based experience to help build their first New York office. Known for its collaborative and innovative approach to finance, the firm places emphasis on effective teamwork in order to maintain world-class technology that consistently drives the business forward.

This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the first Technology Operations team in New York, so you will be exposed to technologies that cover all aspects of the business and will need to be comfortable with a variety of technological challenges. This is a chance to really make an impact in a growing team, where new ideas are welcomed, shared and implemented so a passion for solving complex problems is a must.

  • Solving real time production trading issues to ensure continuity of trading
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to upgrade infrastructure, and tackle complex technical challenges
  • Work collaboratively with a global team, fostering communication between the offices in London, Sydney and New York
  • Provide everyday essential support resolving hardware and desktop issues, onboarding, purchasing, and installation of new software and licensing
  • Balancing your working day between core everyday tasks and more innovative project work

You will have 2 + years experience in a similar role, ideally within a trading firm, supporting bare-metal systems and having built tools or systems with the aim to improve monitoring, notification or reliability.

  • Scripting and DevOps tooling experience (Puppet, Ansible, Python, Terraform)
  • Linux experience with the ability to troubleshoot production systems
  • Interest in cloud technologies, ideally AWS
  • Keen automation enthusiast
  • Ability to work effectively within both a team and independently

Experience in engineering cloud-based solutions, and basic Cisco administration would be a plus, alongside a solid comprehension of networking fundamentals.

Whatโ€™s in it for you:

  • Highly competitive remuneration, including quarterly cash bonus
  • Paid health insurance
  • 25 days paid annual leave
  • Catered daily lunch
  • Flexible and supportive working environment
