Analytics team is responsible for the data behind the firm’s trading activity and investments. We ensure that the information entering our system is correct and complete, then we use it to create reports and analyses that inform members of the business and investment teams. We build dashboards that show portfolio performance to PMs and investment analysts. We work with all business teams and build tools that make their lives easier. We offer creative solutions to many problems and touch all areas of the business. With an emphasis on continuous improvement, we strive to maintain a best-in-class data analytics team.

The responsibilities of an analyst on the Analytics team include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up security and tag with metadata in our proprietary data system
  • Work with users on incoming requests and translate requests into user needs/requirements
  • Work with the team and/or software developers to recommend potential solutions
  • Extract information relating to requests by writing SQL queries
  • Design paginated reports or dashboards to convey requested information
  • Design and build paginated reports using SQL Server Reporting Services B
  • Design and build interactive reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI
  • Translate users’ needs into requirements for internal software development
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in internal processes and work with users to design and implement solutions
  • Evaluate opportunities to upgrade or replace internal software
  • Build tools that help the group manage portfolio data and process
  • Develop automated solutions to manual processes
  • Test software and reporting for issues and errors
  • Debug errors in software and reporting to determine sources and implement fixes
  • Validate daily reports and disseminate firm-wide

Qualification: 

  • Bachelor’s degree information systems, computer science, or a related field
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Studio (SSRS) or Microsoft Power BI (both a plus)
  • Solid understanding of database architecture
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and markets a plus
  • At least 2 years’ experience
