Credit Risk Analyst - Lending (Seeking Analyst or Associate)

Morgan Stanley Bank, N.A. seeks an Analyst/Associate in New York, New York.

Serve as part of the Credit Risk Management (CRM) department evaluating, approving, rejecting, and modifying credit risk transactions. Consider the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk through netting, hedging, and loan participations or through risk mitigation. Assess the Firm's credit risks and protect the Firm's capital. Assign internal credit ratings and establish credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board. Monitor and report on credit risk exposure to the Chief Risk Officer and to senior management. Liaise with Business Units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions. Present views to CRM senior professionals for approval. Perform financial and credit analyses to establish credit-specific ratings. Review and recommend actions on new trade requests to minimize risk. Track and monitor counterparty compliance in accordance with contractual terms and Firm limits. Monitor public ratings of counterparties. Keep current on industry trends and rating agency criteria.

Qualifications:

REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field of study
· 1-5 years of experience in the position offered as a Credit Analyst or related occupation
· Demonstrated knowledge of loan and capital markets products
· Prior experience with financial modeling and understanding of basic accounting fundamentals. Requires Experience assessing the creditworthiness of companies in industries such as Telecom; Media & Technology; Industrials; Healthcare; Consumer & Retail; Energy & Natural Resources; or Metals & Mining
· Experience performing credit analysis on criticized and/or leverage loans, which can include relevant coursework or case studies
· Demonstrated experience presenting and defending views to senior professionals, and the ability to document those views in a clear and concise manner
