The primary role for this position is to lead the Global Functions charge outs process as well as manage the Global Controllers budgeting process. 

This role will own and lead the Global Functions charge out process from the Controllers perspective and considered as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the charge out process.  This position will partner with the FP&A team and the Activity Based Costing (ABC) team to ensure the Global Functions charge out plan is developed on a timely and accurate manner. The role will ensure that global tax and regulatory rules as well as the global charge out guidelines are adhered to in the plan development and in the charge out process. This position therefore requires close interaction with the Regional Controllers and global Tax departments as well as the Inter-Affiliates team.

This role also will be required to attend and make presentations in front of management.

This position will own the review of the Global Controller's yearly operating plan and ensure it is delivered timely and accurately. This position requires close and direct partnership with the leaders of all Planning Units rolling up to the Global Controller, as well as periodic interaction with Citi's senior Controllership leaders. The position will partner directly with Finance FP&A team to ensure that budget is accurately reflected in system. The position is responsible for reviewing the monthly reporting package which highlights monthly actual to budget variances and escalate any issues to ensure the budget will be met.

Additional responsibilities will include other controllership responsibilities within O&T Controllers, such as responding to accounting questions and inquiries, any required policy changes, identifying opportunities and leading transformation projects, driving process and control standardization, and the development of improved monitoring controls.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of accounting or control experience.
  • Experience in accounting/controlling charge outs is not required, but strong accounting skills are critical to this role.
  • Key competencies will include leadership and oversight experience, a mix of excellent analytical and problem solving skills, able to make accurate accounting and business judgment, and attention to quality and detail.
  • Candidate should have strong process and control knowledge, good project management skills, be a self-starter who is able to work independently and be flexible enough to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential with experience presenting in front of management.
  • Relationship skills and experience partnering with multiple businesses as well as the ability to influence and team with colleagues at all levels are key. 
  • Proficiency PC skills including Excel, Word & PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to handle large data sets.  
  • CPA or MBA is a plus.
