Compliance Data Analytics – Senior Data Analyst - Legal / Taxation / Compliance New York
Conduct data analysis for tuning and optimization of various models and tools within Compliance, including the AML transaction monitoring system and the Sanctions filtering system Assist in the modeling development of various Compliance models, including the client risk rating models Assist in data pulls and data analytics for the annual Financial Crime Risk Assessment, where applicable Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures used by the various teams in Compliance through machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), including instances where manual processes can be automated Lead projects to innovate existing processes and procedures in the Compliance space through advanced analytics driven and AI solutions Perform various Permanent Supervision Controls and testing Provide ad-hoc data analysis for various stakeholders within Compliance Profile Required Strong coding skills and experience (at least 7+ years) with the languages and software used in data analysis (including, but not limited to, Python, R, SQL, SAS) Extensive experience (7+ years) with implementing machine learning algorithms on actual datasets (preferably in industrial or research contexts) Advanced degree in technology related discipline preferred Experience with working with data in a research context is preferred Excellent research and analytical skills Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast moving and demanding environment Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with regard to communicating highly technical information to lay audiences Exemplary personal ethics and desire to always adhere to rules and regulations Ability to work well in a highly diverse team Why Join Us

Société Générale's Compliance Digital Transformation Office (DTO) in the Americas is responsible for leading the innovation and digital transformation of the various models, systems, and processes used by the US Compliance department.
The Data Analytics Group is the analytics unit of Compliance with centralized responsibility for conducting quantitative analysis and reviews in an effort to innovate and improve Compliance models, systems, and processes. For instance, this group leads the analytics and fine-tuning for the transaction monitoring systems and false positive reduction effort, develops the client risk rating models, conducts quantitative data analysis for risk assessment and improves various Compliance processes.
Within the Data Analytics Group, individual contributors consisting of Senior Data Scientists are the key individuals that drive these initiatives. Specifically, the Senior Data Scientist will develop Financial Crime risk models based on advanced analytics and artificial intelligence, and implement cutting-edge machine learning algorithms. They will also conduct data quality assessments of critical data elements and create business solutions to automate Compliance processes.
