Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Throughout, the Operations department continually seeks ways to improve while actively supporting the development of new businesses, structures and markets.

The Investment Management Operations group supports the equity, fixed income, liquidity and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. MSIM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management.

Capital Markets & Core Processing (CMCP) Operations supports our Wealth Management Capital Markets trading business. CMCP is seeking a high quality Associate to be a part of our business management team that supports the Capital Markets Organization.

Position Description
Morgan Stanley CMCP Business Management offers a unique opportunity to work with WM Operations management and the Global Ops COO department. The position reports to the CMCP Business Manager offering a broad interaction with the operational support teams, risk and control functions and the business units that comprise Wealth Management Capital Markets. The COO team is responsible for working with the businesses leads to articulate business strategy, prepare strategic plans, support resource management, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and partner with the Head of CMCP on engaging the CMCP organization through various training and development initiatives.

The candidate will work closely with the CMCP Business Manager and COO and participate in the full scope of the groups responsibilities. This candidate will be responsible for:
1) Resource management inclusive of monthly forecasting and P&L explain
2) Support reoccurring and ad hoc reporting
3) Assist in the development of unit cost
4) Provide back up and support of technology investment programs
5) Assist in development and implementation of training and development initiatives

Qualifications:

- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Organized and strong project management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with business management and support teams across multiple locations.
- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Detail orientated.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is a must.
