Department Profile
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 2,300 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firms books and records, and by contributing to firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanleys various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanleys various businesses and its senior management team.

Corporate Treasury
Corporate Treasury provides corporate finance advisory services to senior management and the business units, maintaining the Firms liquidity, optimizing its capital base, coordinating its relationships with rating agencies, lenders and creditors, managing the Firms foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and accessing multi-currency financing.

Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct business analyst activities within Capital Planning business processes, which will primarily include the following activities:
- Document current/target state business processes and procedures/policies
- Capture business process pain points, gaps, and requirements
- Work with various stakeholders to agree on a solution and roadmap to achieve a target state business process
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to manage issues pre/during/post the implementation of business process solutions
- Quantify impact solutions have on business processes using qualitative and quantitative measures (e.g., cycle time reduction, improvement in control, etc.)
- Be able to help facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles with business users and technology developers
- Develop and present training and planning materials to ensure users understand and adopt change
- Support overall management and coordination of projects within the Capital Planning change program
- Produce status and business analyst reports for various audiences, including Financial/Regulatory/Risk controllers, Technology developers, and senior management
- Assist with internal control framework and data quality initiatives


Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in financial services
- Experience performing root-cause and solution analysis of business process issues/problems is a must
- High degree of technical proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SharePoint
- Ability to quickly understand business process tasks/dependencies, data flows, and users roles/responsibilities

Skills Desired
- Financial reporting, regulatory reporting and/or CCAR experience is a plus
- Accounting/internal controls, consulting, and Lean/Six Sigma background is a plus
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business users and technology partners
- Ability to create clear and concise communications using strong analytic and writing skills
- Ability to create executive summaries, issues/risks summaries, and project plans/gantt charts
- Ability to create presentations for business users, technology developers and/or senior management that summarizes complex business processes, pain points and/or solutions as well as plans to improve
- Ability to intelligently forward plan and prioritize for deadlines
- Confident, proactive, and independent self-starter
- Proven track record of great teamwork and ability to work across organizational boundaries
- Experience in cross-functional project management
- Adept at working in a fast-paced, high-energy level environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and client service skills
