The Role:
Legal Entity Controller is an integral member of the finance team, reporting directly to Financial Controller, participating in the accounting and finance processes and controls over internal and external financial reporting, regulatory reporting, operations, and product control.

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our financial reporting team based in our New York City office.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interaction with SEC reporting, Corporate Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control, Treasury and Cash Management in order to ensure proper accounting;
• Responsible for month-end close process and journal entries associated with investing activities, financing activities, consolidation of subsidiaries, intercompany activities and income taxes;
• Prepare quarterly financial statements for external financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP;
• Interact with internal and external auditors and coordinate year end audits;
• Perform the monthly balance sheet substantiation, evaluate adequacy of expense accruals, resolving issues, and escalate key items to management timely;
• Prepare monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances;
• Initiate process reengineering, improve efficiency, and work with IT on improving systems; and
• Ad hoc projects

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Basic accounting knowledge;
• Internship or other experience in accounting field preferred;
• Certified public accountant or pursuing CPA is a plus;
• Attention to detail, Excel capabilities and time management are essential skills for this role;
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong and effective communication skills; and
• Experience with Oracle and/or Essbase/Smartview is a plus
