Blackstone Insurance Solutions (BIS) delivers Blackstone's private credit and investment management expertise to insurers, helping those firms meet long-term policyholder obligations and drive shareholder value. Blackstone's Insurance Solutions Group offers analysts the experience on a professional team whose work involves delivering Blackstone's investment management expertise and products to insurance companies. Analysts at Blackstone have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of investing and can expect to be staffed on a number of transactions at once. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, Analysts are expected to assume integral roles on deal teams.


The Analyst will support the portfolio management team with ongoing day-to-day responsibilities to include:
  • Tracking and analyzing market conditions to support tactical decisions around asset allocation
  • Reviewing data and portfolio analytics across fixed income sector teams and systems for consistency
  • Maintaining data and analytics on rates and benchmarks to support portfolio construction
  • Utilizing technology and analytical tools to augment current processes and create scalable analysis
  • Performing ad hoc portfolio analysis to support needs of insurance clients including M&A activity
  • Generating customized reports to track key portfolio metrics on an ongoing basis
  • Collaborating with portfolio management team to produce materials for investment reviews
  • Working with risk management on portfolio guideline compliance

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in finance, economics, statistics, mathematics or a similar field
  • 1-3 years of experience in asset management, with preference for exposure to fixed income markets, insurance portfolio management
  • Passion for thinking critically about fixed income markets
  • Experience working with large sets of data and developing scalable and repeatable processes/reporting
  • Solid project planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong analytical / critical thinking mindset and attention to details
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Bloomberg, FactSet are a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses recommended
