Position Description Morgan Stanley's Bank Compliance team seeks an Instructional Design Professional to assist in the analysis, design, and development of e-learning compliance training initiatives for Morgan Stanley's two U.S. Banks.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the story-boarding, creation, modification, and content enhancement of e-learning courses leveraging publishing tools and technology
  • In collaboration with the Head of Bank Compliance Training, work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create new courses from scripts and revise existing courses
  • Take internally developed content and design ideas from storyboard phase to the final course
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and per the prescribed guidelines
  • Identify best practices for e-learning and implement adult learning principles to engage learners and maximize knowledge retention
  • Assist in the development and implementation of consistent design standards and guidelines across the suite of Bank Compliance e-learning courses
  • Create e-learning courses that provide for a more targeted and engaging learner experience, leveraging such concepts as gamification and adaptive learning
  • Ensure all Compliance training materials are current and up to date, keeping pace with regulatory change as well as other developments in the marketplace
  • Lead or assist Compliance SMEs with instructor led courses
  • Advise and/or coordinate the development of training materials with external vendors
  • Manage records of all training performed by or taken by Bank Compliance, including maintenance of attendee lists and inclusion in firm wide Learning Management System (LMS).


Skills Required:
  • Bachelor degree and 5-10 years of Instructional design experience
  • Strong knowledge of HTML5, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Snag It, PowerPoint and other e-Learning publishing tools
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS), such as Cornerstone On Demand
  • Ability to understand bank laws, regulations, and processes to effectively create targeted training (e.g. Regulations B, O, P, U, V, W, X, Y, Z, FDPA, SAFE Act, Fair Housing Act)
  • Ability to develop and implement innovative e-learning methods to convey complex concepts to targeted learners
