RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in New York, NY. Multiple positions available. Senior developer within the Derivatives Trade Processing Technology team, responsible for developing and maintaining trade processing systems. Duties include: Building next generation set of derivative trade processing micro-services using Java-based technology, MongoDB, and Apache Kafka. Analyzing, enhancing, and maintaining existing, complex real-time trade processing systems, CBM and Omni, which are responsible for validation, contract mapping, regulatory eligibility evaluation, and data distribution of all OTC derivative contracts. Analyzing, enhancing, and maintaining existing regulatory reporting functionality in the Firm's proprietary trading system. Leading small teams through all the stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including providing work estimates and raising critical project issues such as technical/delivery risks. Engaging in test-driven development using Junit and Firm proprietary database regulatory tests. Partnering with the Regulatory Operations team to review upcoming regulatory obligations and devise plan for implementation including swaps data repository reporting (CFTC Part 45), price transparency reporting (CFTC Part 43), and margin rules. Partnering with Securities Derivatives Operations to create the technology to process new OTC Derivative products or enhance products, such as Equity Synthetics.

Job Requirements: Master's or Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in the job offered or related software development role. Prior work experience must include three (3) years (with Master's degree) or five (5) years (with Bachelor's degree) with: Object Oriented programming language, such as Java or similar; Leveraging data structures and algorithms for online transaction processing; Software development using messaging technologies, such as Apache Kafka, Tibco EMS, Rest, Windows MQ or similar; SQL; and Communicating requirements, technical design, implementation, and testing plans to stakeholders. Prior experience must include two (2) years with: Database Management Systems, such as Sybase ASE, DB2, Sybase IQ, MongoDB, Elastic Search, HBase, or similar; and Supporting an OTC Derivatives business, including designing systems for the processing of OTC derivatives in compliance with regulatory requirements, such as swaps data repository reporting, price transparency reporting, and margin rules; and test-driven development methodology.
