The Role: Associate, Global Sovereign & IPF, Analytics & Research

The Location: New York (flexible)

The Team: The incumbent will be part of the Sovereign and International Public Finance ratings team, working closely with the Head of Analytics & Research, the Sector Leads and chairs of the "Analytical Oversight and Consistency Council" (AOCC)

The Impact: The incumbent will support the planning, execution and monitoring of a wide range of initiatives and projects aiming to enhance the quality of our analytics, and our market impact. He/she will also help with our plan to ensure ratings' quality and consistency across different asset classes in the practice.

The incumbent will interact on a day-to-day basis with our most senior analysts across the regions.

Responsibilities: The incumbent will support on a day-to-day basis the Head of Analytics & Research for Sovereign & IPF and the regional sector leads /AOCC chairs. He/she will work on a very wide range of projects, requiring rigor, disciplined execution, good communication skill, the ability to multitask across different time zones, and a sense of initiative.

Among other responsibilities, the successful candidate will:
- Join the Global Sovereign and IPF AOCC's, and assist with the planning and day-to-day running and subsequent follow ups of this key analytical forum.
- Deliver a number of projects aiming to strengthen the technological infrastructure supporting the global and regional AOCCs.
- Support our initiatives to improve the standardization and governance of AOCCs.
- Contribute, under the leadership of sector leads, to a number of flagship publications and global research.
- Manage the process of the Publishing Review Board, and contribute to the quarterly training sessions.
- Contribute to emerging initiatives to strengthen our use of data and technology to enhance our analytics and efficiency.
- Contribute, to improve and increase our exposure and use of social media and other interactive outlets.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Economics/business discipline preferred). Post Graduate studies in economics (or similar) would be a plus.
- Minimum 1+ years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to quickly absorb, analyze, and act upon information, while demonstrating strong proficiency with figures, accuracy and be detail-oriented while complying with deadlines.
- Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint and database application skills.
- Solid communication skills, verbal and written, as well as the capacity to expand, learn, and make a contribution. English communication skills should be strong - both verbal and written.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask across different time zones, meet deadlines and work under time pressure.
- Strong team player - the ability to work in a deal-driven, collaborative and multicultural work environment is critical.
- Must have ability to think independently and critically, and have an eye for innovation opportunities.
