Citi is seeking a highly motivated U.S. bank regulatory attorney with 8-10+ years of experience to join Citi's Bank Regulatory Legal Group. Will provide U.S. bank regulatory advice to Citi's businesses, domestic and foreign, which will include various areas of the Dodd-Frank Act.
The Bank Regulatory Legal Group reviews new activities, capital investments and acquisitions, and advises on the impact of U.S. bank/bank holding company (BHC) laws and regulations on Citi, prepares U.S. bank/BHC regulatory applications for the firm, and serves as a liaison with the firm's U.S. bank regulatory agencies.
Among the responsibilities will be to advise Citi businesses on various U.S. bank/bank holding company regulatory issues, including Federal Reserve Act Regulations K, W and Y, OCC regulations and interpretive letters on investment securities and bank authority, as well as new and proposed regulations issued by the U.S. bank regulatory agencies, including certain regulations promulgated under the Dodd-Frank Act. The candidate will be involved in the analysis and interpretation of new and proposed regulations and pending legislation, work with business partners, as well as colleagues in the Legal department and other global functions, to help implement, and coordinate the firm's response to, rules and regulations. The candidate will also represent Citi in various trade associations, and help comment on, and/or write, comments letters in response to proposed regulations.
Candidate would also participate in analyzing U.S. bank/bank holding company regulatory considerations in the planning and development of the tactical and strategic direction of certain products, businesses and the firm overall. Partnering with business/functional line management in advising and making recommendations on business transactions, initiatives and objectives within permissible U.S. bank regulatory frameworks will be a key responsibility. Candidate is expected to analyze and manage complex U.S. bank/bank holding company regulatory issues, and be a subject matter expert in this area.
8-10+ years of legal experience with a large corporation, law firm or government agency. Strong knowledge of existing and new banking/BHC regulations, statutes, agency rulings and policy required.
Must have excellent analytical and advocacy skills as well as the ability to speak and write clearly, and interact with business and legal colleagues in a creative, collaborative and productive manner.

• Attorney must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction.
