Location: New York, NY, USAThe Credit Strategy & Research team at Moody's Investors Service has an exciting opportunity for an individual who can assist the CSS Research Director in achieving an ambitious research agenda. The position requires a high level of energy, a go-getter attitude, an ability to build partnerships and work with diverse groups within MIS.
The Credit Strategy & Research team provides thought leadership, develops macro viewpoints in collaboration with rating teams and key market participants, and describes those views to the market through thematic research and engagement with key market participants. The team is part of the Credit Strategy and Standards group, which promotes rating quality, consistency and transparency in Moody's Investors Service credit analysis globally.
The key function of the role is to provide analytical, statistical, research and logistical assistance to the research director on research projects related to medium and long-term trends and developments that may have credit impact. Economic research and quantitative analysis, data collection and analysis, survey of external and internal research, developing analytical models in excel, preparing research and analytical presentations are integral parts of this role.
Additionally, the analyst will help research director in tracking the research conducted by CSS. The analyst will also work closely with research director in curating our website, http://www.moodys.com/thebigpicture where high profile research is showcased.
Research & Strategy
- Bachelor's degree from a highly reputable university. A major in business, finance, or economics is a plus but not required.
- 2-3 years of financial services experience, working in either product management, project management, or strategy roles is desirable
- Excellent quantitative skills and financial/statistical research ability
- Ability to work using own initiative and without close supervision. A self-starter has a high likelihood of success in this role
- Strong MS Office skills: principally Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Be highly organized and efficient; excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work pro-actively and multi-task and in an unstructured environment
