Position Summary

We are looking for an Associate to join the Legal & Regulatory team to support the Enterprise Risk Management ("ERM") program and other entity-level control programs including anti-bribery and corruption compliance. The ERM program is the primary framework to identify, assess, manage and report on risks at the asset management level. This position involves review and analysis of certain types of operating information across the entire real estate portfolio (including all sectors and regions). Some specific responsibilities are listed below. This position would provide an individual with a broad foundation of our real estate business.
  • Enterprise Risk Management
    • Assist with overall implementation of ERM program
    • Perform comprehensive review of quarterly Controls Reports from all portfolio companies; identify key issues and trends for discussion with relevant stakeholders
    • Participate in quarterly and annual conversations with business leaders on current risks
    • Maintain centralized/master list of top risks
    • Assist with preparation of quarterly ERM updates to the Audit Committee of BPY's board of directors
  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Other Entity-Level Program Matters
    • Perform transaction ABC/AML due diligence
    • Support implementation and monitoring of ABC program, including coordination with portfolio management teams and administration of trainings
    • Assist in establishing and maintaining an ABC compliance dashboard
    • Assist with general oversight of the data privacy program
    • Assist in maintenance of Legal & Regulatory databases and Brookfield file-sharing sites
    • Respond to internal and external information requests as needed
    • Provide general support to Legal & Regulatory team on other corporate matters
