Asset & Wealth Management

Asset & Wealth Management, with client assets of $2.8 trillion, is a global leader in investment and wealth management. The firm's risk management framework and governance structure are intended to provide comprehensive controls and on-going management of the major risks inherent in its business activities. It is also intended to create a culture of risk awareness and personal responsibility throughout the firm. The firm's ability to properly identify, measure, monitor and report risk is critical to both its soundness and profitability.

Description:

The Digital Wealth Management Risk VP will be responsible for risk oversight of the Wealth Management business focused on our Digital Wealth Management initiatives including on-line brokerage and investment management services for private high net worth and retail clients. Responsibilities include identifying, evaluating and assessing potential risks, engaging the business to drive action to reduce residual risk where appropriate. Assessment of risks would be accomplished in several ways, including: 1) actively participating in oversight and governance activities 2) serving in a(n) consultative/advisory capacity providing advice and guidance to the business and operations and 3) reviewing product development designs to ensure inclusion of appropriate controls and adherence to regulatory requirements. The role will require close partnership with the business/product, operations, legal, compliance and supervision. Strong candidates will have a risk management background and knowledge of online brokerage and investment management businesses, including retail brokerage activities subject to RNDIP regulation and review.

Role Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing and proposed new product offerings or process changes to identify potential risk
  • Assist senior leadership in prioritizing, designing and driving the strategic risk agenda
  • Communicate with senior management regarding risk findings and recommendations
  • Identify reputational, operational, credit, fraud, regulatory and other risk issues, working in partnership with business and operations staff to identify means of mitigating risk
  • Evaluate regulatory rule changes and exam findings in the firm and across the industry to assess the risk exposure of the Wealth Management business


Qualifications:

  • Financial Industry Experience : Experience in investment management, client relationships and products within Wealth Management or retail environment
  • On-line brokerage experience
  • Risk Management experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in securities and banking products including equities, mutual funds, fixed income, managed accounts, annuities and collateralized credit products expected
  • Coding background
  • Ability to successfully lead, influence, and execute collaborative efforts with partners from diverse backgrounds, skill sets and priorities
  • Must be able to prepare executive-level material and present to Senior Management
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to develop compelling analytical presentations
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Detail oriented and ability to work independently; strong time management skills
  • Strong software skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word desirable
