THE POSITION

TH Real Estate is seeking an analytical individual with capital markets/finance experience, specifically in commercial real estate. Tasks will include sourcing, arranging, and closing floating rate debt, fixed rate debt (balance sheet and CMBS) and lines of credit. The company seeks a candidate who is eager to pursue an opportunity to progress on the Real Estate Finance team. Commercial real estate lending experience is a plus. Strong preference for individuals with experience performing real estate financial analysis, including Argus software and cash flow modeling and an understanding of real estate capital markets. The successful candidate will have solid critical thinking and communications skills. The position provides an opportunity to work in a high profile, dynamic, and creative environment at an institution with a long history of commercial real estate investing.

Responsibilities:

Work along with senior team members to:

  • Coordinate all US real estate financing activity including obtaining debt for new property acquisitions, previously unencumbered properties and property portfolios.
  • Source secured and unsecured lines of credit for funds and conduct hedging activities in connection with real estate-related debt including securing and arranging interest rate caps and swaps.
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice regarding debt and hedging to the Portfolio managers of TH Real Estate.
  • Negotiate loan structure and terms to achieve the most favorable outcome for TH Real Estate.
  • Ensure compliance with the TH Real Estate procedures and processes for obtaining and closing all real estate debt-related transactions.
  • Monitor financial markets and be aware of market and global trends.
  • Maintain relationships with real estate lenders and loan brokers throughout the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required
  • BA degree required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in a commercial real estate, investment banking, or private equity environment.
  • Strong financial/quantitative and critical thinking skills.
Desired
  • BA Degree in in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or Mathematics desired. Other majors considered depending on experience.
  • Industry contacts among the banking, insurance, lending and mortgage intermediary community, across balance sheet, CMBS, and debt fund shops.
  • Commercial real estate lending experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter who is willing to work independently and is a quick-learner.
  • Interest in capital markets.
  • Proficient in Argus, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Well organized and able to balance multiple and diverse priorities while delivering quality product.
