The Global Product Group (GPG) brings innovation, discipline, and focus to BlackRock's investment product line by aligning client and investment teams in the design and execution of product-related initiatives. The group performs a wide range of functions including industry, competitor, and fund range analysis, design of platform strategy and management of product lifecycle, execution of fund launches and changes, and delivery of robust product governance and key regulatory projects.

Your role and impact

Sitting within the Global Product Group, this role will drive key product development initiatives for BlackRock's Alternative products and oversee the firm's multi-billion dollar internal investment portfolio. We partner closely with Product Strategy, Client Businesses, and Corporate Functions to ensure that new products are delivered to our clients in a scalable, timely, and topical fashion. The comparatively small size of the team offers the opportunity to assume significant responsibility as team members work closely with senior professionals across all functions and collaborate with other BlackRock teams.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive the success of BlackRock's Alternatives platform in the US by managing new product development and product lifecycle events

  • Help oversee and operate BlackRock's seed capital and co-investment portfolio

  • Collaborate with teams on proposals for potential Alternatives product launches as well as changes to existing products, including advising on product structuring and overseeing creation of legal docs

  • Implement processes related to seed and co-investment portfolio oversight including acquiring internal approvals, budgeting and forecasting, and quarterly reporting

  • Partner extensively with global colleagues in BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI), Treasury, Legal & Compliance, Operations, Tax, and Risk to ensure global alignment and consistency of processes

  • Acquire and maintain a detailed understanding of BlackRock's processes, operating environment, and investment products while communicating unique requirements of our funds to business partners

  • Build consensus across internal partners

What are we looking for?

  • BA/BS required

  • 3+ years of investment management industry experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of asset management products and asset classes, particularly Alternatives

  • Familiarity with distribution channels, product development, closed-end fund structuring, and/or product tax would be a plus

  • Ability to establish relationships and work with all levels of personnel within BlackRock, including investment teams, global sales teams, marketing, operations, risk, legal and compliance, etc.

  • Organized, precise, and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize effectively, multi-task quickly, and efficiently adapt to new situations in a fast-paced environment

  • Passionate about analytical problem-solving and continuous learning

  • Advanced Excel and Advanced PowerPoint
