Account Director, Marketing and Communications (Principal)


While BNY Mellon is best known as a custody bank, we're actually much more than that. In fact, we service the entire lifecycle of a transaction, from custody through to trading, funding, liquidity, collateral management and settlement. Our Markets business operates five distinct but connected business lines: FX; fixed income and equities; securities finance; collateral management and liquidity services.

So what are we looking for? We are seeking an experienced Account Director to manage the overall relationship with internal and external stakeholders to elevate the BNY Mellon Markets brand. You're a strategic and creative thinker with a demonstrated history of translating complex information into creative multiplatform campaigns, supporting client engagement, and the ability to anticipate client challenges.

• Plans and implements integrated marketing and communications campaigns in support of key initiatives and business targets. Also supports brand awareness and client relationship-building or prospecting.

• Develops and supervises the execution of marketing campaigns in accordance with strategic objectives. Takes the lead on the full project lifecycle from development to delivery, tracks marketing content using measurable performance indicators from said business lines.

• Skilled multi-tasker who handles pressure well and has the ability to work with a wide range of people on multiple projects simultaneously through excellent team management.

• Energetic innovator with diverse skill sets, sound judgement and strong points of view who can take initiative to put creative ideas into motion. Introduces increasingly forward-thinking content, selling new ideas and storytelling concepts that will drive the business to new creative heights.

• Actively seeks input from the business to make timely and well-informed decisions, shaping insights and thought leadership into winning strategies. Promotes a sense of urgency that establishes individual accountability.

• Focal point for individual business lines. Establishes collaborative relationships with internal and external clients to align thinking on strategic objectives, acting as a creative agency for the business, and fostering an environment of trust. Helps clients weigh options, evaluate trade-offs and make critical decisions, exceeding expectations in business management and insight.

• Positions the business as an industry leader in relevant marketing segments by managing collaboration between product and sales, as well as other cross-divisional teams, in support of business plans and corporate goals.

• Determines staffing and workflow needs for projects. Assists the department with resource planning. Has track record for hiring and retaining excellent talent.

• Responsible for team management, morale, workflow process, resource allocation and employee engagement.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Ability to translate complex concepts into accessible content is a must.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required in marketing, advertising or agency role. 15+ years of related experience preferred; experience in the securities or financial services industry is not necessary
