Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating potential private real estate investments (strategy, structure, fees arrangements)
  • Conduct due diligence on potential investments (site visits, management interviews, operational review, return models, fee structures, asset reviews with industry experts).
  • Liaise with legal and financial counsel when necessary.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution of materials needed to obtain internal committee approvals for new investments.
  • Attend industry conferences to expand knowledge of market environment and products as well as to network with industry participants.
  • Assist in originating new investment ideas (leveraging off public company analysts, networking, reviewing industry publications, etc.).
  • Prepare and distribute agenda and other materials necessary for weekly meetings.
  • Assist in monitoring current investments (review quarterly reports, meet periodically with partners/operators/management teams, prepare and present investment management reviews).
  • Stay abreast of trends in the marketplace.
  • Maintain investment fee model and fund fee database.
  • Assist with Real Estate Investment Administration.
  • Process capital calls and distributions and otherwise monitor cash flows.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic reports detailing cash flows, valuation, and performance.
  • Assist in the commentary relating to periodic performance and valuation reports.
  • Otherwise fulfill PA obligations under the Investment Process and Portfolio Management Process.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Self-starter, ability to work well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills
