About the Role 

The DevOps Team at iCapital plays a critical role in keeping the production and development environments running smoothly and securely.  As part of a small team, the DevOps Engineer will be wearing multiple hats in a highly visible role interacting with all aspects of the business.  This VP role assumes willingness to think like an owner, helping move projects along, provide technical advisory capacities and be pro-active in continually automating and scaling our environment.


  • Act as infrastructure architect who understands DevOps principles and automation, with a strong understanding of networking, AWS best practices and CI/CD strategies
  • Act as Kubernetes expert and lead
  • Improve operational efficiency by automating manual tasks to reduce support workload
  • Wear an SRE hat, helping to troubleshoot performance and deployment issues as well as improving our monitoring strategies
  • Write and update self-service tools used internally by developers.


  • 6+ years of DevOps or SRE experience with at least 2 years of AWS experience
  • Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment is a must
  • Strong Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles 
  • Able to code in Python or Ruby desired
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to design and implement complex, but easily-managed, automated infrastructure
  • A desire to share, teach and learn as part of a team
